Shadows of Ramadan Art Exhibition

Hosted by Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach

SHADOWS OF RAMADAN  will commence from the 3rd June to 31st August.

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach will be hosting “Shadows of Ramadan” exhibition featuring art from Jordanian sculptors Bassam Al Selawi and Maysoon Masalha.

Known for their intricate ceramic and resin pieces, when lit from a certain angle, create pictures from the shadows they cast, the artists will be displaying 19 works, of which 14 have never been exhibited previously. The shadow sculptures combine modern techniques with Arabic calligraphy and the shadows come to life, bring a completely new dimension to the work.

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is situated along the prime waterfront location of Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), “The Walk” and the new low-rise retail and leisure destination “The Beach”.

Plantation Restaurant & Terrace is known for its award-winning Art & Dine concept where guests can select from a delicious range of European and Mediterranean dishes, cooked and served in traditional cast iron pots known in France as ‘Cassolette’ or ‘Cocotte’. The method of cooking is very popular in homes across France and is nourishing and comforting. The restaurant provides a stunning backdrop to many prestigious art exhibitions all year round from local and international artists and “Shadows of Ramadan” is no exception.

For those wanting something a little different, the restaurant also offers an All-Day Breakfast promotion for AED 45 per person including a glass of fresh orange juice and a cup of tea or coffee. Available 24 hours a day; seven days a week, diners can choose from three options including the ‘Fry-up’, the ‘Oriental’ or the ‘Wellness’.

A.O.C French Brasserie, located next to Plantation Restaurant & Terrace will be offering an Iftar buffet daily for AED 140 per person including Ramadan beverages, mineral water and soft drinks. Starting at sunset and concluding at 11pm, those wanting to enhance their art experience with an Iftar can book directly by calling 04 448 4733 or e-mailing RESTAURANTS.DUBAIJBR@sofitel.com.
